SophisticateYes, the boy was naïve, yes he was wrong. This was always the story, like a drying fish flinging itself towards the water it knows it will never reach. Futile exceptions to his book had caused a pool of sudden turns from the appropriate outcome, but in reality, the moon would not change. The Earth would revolve in the same blandly deliberate manner that it seemed destined to, and the boy would be alone in revolutions. But this would not crush his hope, that one palpable apple of forgiveness that God, or any similar power, had gifted us for these precise times! Aere thundered into the Solarian palace, her earthen face resembling a thunderstorm.   
“Aere…” Breathed Clockworth as she stomped past.   
“Hello, Father,” Aere hissed through closed teeth, not even giving him a backwards glance.   
She marched all the way up to Senta’s room without meeting anyone else. As she flung open the door, her hard expression melted into her warm smile. She had made it home through the mine field alive.

Clockworth was standing on his balcony, staring out over his powerful reign. He was feeling very uneasy, his knees weakened and his muscles sore. The skies were grey and sickly looking. And then…there was something in the distance, a three part speck emerging from the forest. It was his daughters, dragging his stepson between them. All though he was old and worn, it did not take him long to realize that something was not right.   
“Drenneal! Aerephobe! Ferrowdust!” He exclaimed as he raced down to meet them. When he saw the black haired boy, his faced turned grim. Sentacorn the Criminal 2

Aere once again grabbed at Senta’s huge grey cloak, but he snatched it away from her and he ran into the forest. Aere stared back at the place where he disappeared, unblinking. Suddenly there was a sound of someone crashing through the undergrowth. Aere’s heart instantly wanted it to be Senta, coming back to apologize or at least explain his strange behavior.  
 
“Aere! Aere!”  
 
It was a young, high, girl’s voice. The call was almost squeaky with fear, shock, and uncertainty. It wasn’t Senta. It must be-

Well, it's Christmas! And the fifth night of Hanukkah! So happy holidays to all! It's been a fascinating year looking at it on a macro level and from a global distance. Everything from politics to the United States economy to the environment have been drastically altered over the last twelve months. And all we can say is, well, hope the next twelve are just as eventful!

So, appreciate the small things. Once you've lived without light or without Internet or without controlled temperatures or without family, you really begin to learn a lot about all the little things humans can take for granted. And that's the thought for the year.

I wish happiness to all, for everyone certainly deserves it. ;)

(A Christmas Carol is arguably one of the most famous holiday tales of our time. Although I've never read the most likely brilliant original, I'm sure it is fantastic, for its story has stayed with us, teaching us, throughout the years. So, if you ever see it in the bookstore or library, why not pick it up to enjoy? I mean, it's Dickens.)

  • Favourite cartoon character: Hmmm...well, I'll just throw it out there. Danny Phantom? (I mean, American cartoon wise...)
  • Personal Quote: Yuppers. (Seriously, I could sue.)
  • Tools of the Trade: My lucky pen and my magical bag `o special markers (for the seeing impaired)^-^
